Videodrive

   What is a Videodrive system?

Basically in the car I have a video player, and camera which means that we can record the lesson. The camera is situated between the driver and passenger seat. It shows out through the windscreen, but also the inside of the car. An in car microphone sits by the drivers mirror.

What is the benefit for the pupil?

You get the chance to take the tape away and watch all, or parts of the lesson again at your leisure. This is especially helpful when learning new subjects. You can also see if you are checking mirrors, crossing hands, observing on reversing exercises etc. It allows you to see first hand any mistakes, or good driving that you have done during a lesson.

One of the main problems in driving instruction is talking about incidents some time after they occurred. It is very difficult for the pupil to remember whether they for instance did ‘wander’ out of their lane on a roundabout. with this system we can replay that part of the tape and relive the scenario in its true form.

What will it cost me?

Nothing if you provide your own blank tape, then just bring it along to each lesson. This is a system that very few instructors use (none others locally), that will cost you nothing, but could save you quite a lot of money in time. It will enable you to learn, and rectify mistakes quicker, so in the end requiring less recap time on the next lesson.

Pupils that have used this in the past have found it a great help, they  have also been able to share their experiences with friends or relatives. This can be helpful if doing private practice as Mum and Dad can see how you are progressing.
